Victor Castillo's debut U.S. solo show opens this Sat @ Merry Karnowsky...

"Thirsty Animal"
2009, acrylic on canvas, 50 x 50 cm, 19.5” x 19.5”

Merry Karnowsky Gallery is the proud host of the debut U.S. solo show from Chilean artist, Victor Castillo, which opens this coming Saturday. The show is one to be envious of if you're a gallery owner, as Victor has been causing waves over in Europe for sometime now and his work is just screaming to be seen in person out here in Southern California. The demand for his work is high at the moment, and this new series is looking just amazing.

Victor, who now resides in Barcelona, Spain, illustrates an impressive balance between the conflicting extremes of juvenile innocence and macabre violence in this latest body of work.

Come see for yourself this Saturday and be sure to ask about the meaning of the hot-dog shapped noses. Much thought and concept goes into each piece.

Sat, July 11th 8-11PM
Merry Karnowsky Gallery
170 S. La Brea Ave in Los Angeles
